Dom Irrera and Friends

Special Event

Dom Irrera and Friends

Comedy legend, Dom Irrera and his amazingly funny friends come together for an unforgettable evening of comedy. Dom will be joined by Kate Quigley, Mike Saccone and Billiam Cornell for this very special and unique show brought together for The Comedy Club of Kansas City. This is not a touring show, as Dom's health doesn't allow him to travel as much, but thanks to Kansas City's own, Mike Saccone we were able to secure this very special weekend of comedy. This is a weekend you will not want to miss.

* Dom Irrera's stand-up material was honed in a multi-generational Italian household in South Philadelphia with his mother, sister, grandmother, uncles and cousins all under one very big roof. A great-grandmother even lived across the street. Together, there were three floors and four generations of family.

His first big break was his performance on Rodney Dangerfield's "Nothing Goes Right" comedy specials for HBO. In 1989, Irrera's HBO special "One Night Stand" earned him his first CableACE award for Best Stand-Up Comedy Special. In '95 he won a second CableACE for the Showtime stand-up series he hosted, "Full Frontal Comedy." That same year he received a second CableACE nomination in the writing category for his work on Comedy Central's animated series, "Dr. Katz: Professional Therapist." His third HBO special was in '92, titled "Command Performance." He was the host of Comedy Central's "Offsides," a sports comedy show with the NFL.

He has performed on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson," "The Late Show with David Letterman,""Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "The View," and made several appearances on "Oprah."

Dom has made more appearances at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal than any other American comedian. He has also appeared at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in Australia, the Cat Laughs Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland and at Edinburgh Festival's Assembly Hall in Scotland. It was there that he received the "Herald Award" for artistic excellence.

You may have seen Dom on "Seinfeld," "Everybody Loves Raymond," "King of Queens," and "I'm Dying Up Here" to name a few. Dom also voiced the character Ernie on Nickelodeon's "Hey Arnold." He won a daytime Emmy award for his character Duke the Dog on Nickelodeon's "Back at the Barnyard." His film work includes "The Big Lebowski," and "Hollywood Shuffle." In 2018, Dom was on the dais at "The Comedy Central Roast of Bruce Willis."

Dom's comedy is a blend of relaxed, effortless delivery, laced with an array of colorful characters and voices. The impact, whether you've seen him once or dozens of times, is that you feel like Dom is kind of a friend, someone you'd like to have a beer with-and, not uncommonly, that you've become part of the de facto Dom Irrera family.
